Bridgend County Energy is a Bridgend County Borough Council project funded by Reach and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and managed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy. 

There's loads of local energy stuff going on in Bridgend County - and help for it too! That means it's easier than ever to get together with your community to start up an energy project. Below you can get an overview of the different organisations in the area that can give your local group help to make your idea a reality. 

Ynni Lleol gives comprehensive advice, guidance and funding to groups wanting to set up a renewable energy project. Their toolkit aims to guide groups through the whole process of setting up a renewable energy project. 

What does it do?

Renew Wales gives peer-to-peer mentoring and technical support from other communities fighting climate change. The network isn't just for energy projects but links up environmental groups all over Wales.

Community Energy Wales  is a membership organisation for community energy groups. Their website has lots of case studies of local projects and information on different energy technologies. 

What does it do?

NEA Cymru give fuel poverty training and advice for people and volunteers working in energy advice. They also run an online Fuel Poverty Action Network to link up organisations and groups working with fuel poverty. 

What does it do?

Locality is a national network and membership organisation for community groups working on a wide range of local issues including energy and environment. They offer some funding for community projects and help for getting started. 

What does it do?

Wales Council for Voluntary Action run Invest in Nature Cymru, a Welsh Government programme working to support any community group wanting to start an environmental project. They offer a telephone help and information.

Natural Resources Wales' funding update gives an overview of money available to groups and charities for environmental projects and causes.

The Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations has a subscription to Grantfinder a funding search service for community organisations. 

What does it do?

Centre for Sustainable Energy  has online resources on community energy projects, offer support to neighbourhood planning groups and will help one group from Bridgend County to set up an energy project through the Bridgend County Energy Challenge.
